Post and beam construction is a particular favourite of ours as it can be used as the main structural skeletal support system or for design features such as roof supports or corbel beams. Post and beam will often require metal plates, traditional joints, wooden dowels or even stainless steel fasteners to join the different elements together which we can design and provide in house. It all depends on the desired aesthetic.
The minimum section sizes of timber required will be dependent on species, length of clear span, spacing between each element and loading criteria.
Post and beams can be made of Glulam or solid timber sections from species such as Douglas Fir, Scottish Larch or European Oak.
We manufacture and supply post and beam structures to some of the largest household names within the building industry. Our design team can draw up details in standard PDF and CAD files for the self-builders, through to architectural practices.
No project is too big or small and our skilled workforce will welcome you to our factory to discuss your project or even see it being formed.
